Council of Provost
Meet the Council of Provost
Council of Provosts (COP) at UC San Diego
- The Council of Provosts is composed of the Provosts from each of UCSD’s undergraduate residential colleges. As of 2008, that included Provosts from the eight colleges, and the group convenes regularly to address matters affecting the colleges and undergraduate education generally.
- The Chair of the COP, a role that typically rotates every two years among the Provosts, serves as the leader, spokesperson, and primary contact for the Council.
- The Council serves as a forum for sharing ideas, collaborating, and coordinating across the colleges. It plays a role in shaping and refining the student experience through these exchanges.
- According to UC San Diego’s broader college governance structure, the Council of Provosts regularly meets to discuss issues relevant to the colleges and to undergraduate education more broadly.
