Lecturer Recruitment in the Colleges Writing Programs and Environmental Studies Minor Program

Overview

One of the features that sets UC San Diego apart from other major universities in the United States is its family of undergraduate colleges: Revelle, John Muir, Thurgood Marshall, Earl Warren, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sixth, and Seventh Colleges. Each of UC San Diego's undergraduate colleges has its own writing/core program. In addition, the Environmental Studies Minor Program is housed within the colleges, through John Muir College. The colleges may appoint lecturers throughout the academic year.

Lecturer appointments vary in % effort and duration within the academic year (September through June) depending on the course and program. All programs receive lecturer applications through an online UC San Diego website, UC San Diego Recruit. Applications are accepted starting in the Winter for the following academic year. The application deadline varies.

Qualifications 

Depending on the program, a Masters degree or higher is required to be appointed as a Lecturer. Solid teaching experience at the University level and demonstrated strong leadership or commitment to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in an academic setting is also required.
